GCAN-208 Fiber-to-CAN Gateway Converter
GCAN-208 series modules are industrial-grade CAN bus to fiber converters that integrate 1 (or 2) standard fiber interfaces (single mode, multi-mode, SC, ST optional) and 2 (or 1) standard CAN bus interfaces. GCAN-208 series modules can convert CAN bus data into optical signals and transmit them through optical fibers. By using GCAN-208 series modules in pairs, users can easily extend the CAN bus communication distance, effectively eliminate long-distance communication interference, and prevent the bus from being damaged by electromagnetic interference, ground ring interference, lightning strikes, etc. on the bus and equipment.
GCAN-208 series modules can convert CAN bus data into optical signals transparently and losslessly, and then transparently and losslessly parse optical signals into CAN bus data. Guangcheng Technology uses a unique bus signal conversion technology to reduce the conversion time between CAN data and optical signals to microseconds, thus ensuring the real-time communication. Therefore, GCAN-208 can support any CAN bus communication protocol such as CANopen, SAE J1939, DeviceNet, NMEA2000, etc.

GCAN-208 series modules can convert CAN bus data into optical signals transparently and losslessly, and then analyze optical signals into CAN bus data transparently and losslessly. Using bus signal conversion technology, the conversion time between CAN data and optical signals can be reduced to microseconds, thus ensuring the real-time communication.
